About the branch:
Pediatrics branch started with the college institution at 2002 with one teaching staff member and now 6 staff members in the department 4 of them assistant professors and 2 lecturers. Pediatrics branchcompleted the requirements which was approved by the ministry of higher education to start the master degree in pediatrics.
Vision, Message and Objectives:
Our branch vision was to get the confidence support and affiliation from our college, University, ministry of higher education and abroad medical institutions as well.
The main mission of pediatrics branch was to graduate a doctors who can be eligible, efficient and responsible in his work with good training and knowledge enabling him to beer his responsibility in the field of working as helpful kind and effective member in the community.

Undergraduate study (fifth & sixth years):
Respiratory diseases. (6 hours)
Renal diseases. (4 hours)
Infectious diseases. (8 hours)
Immunization. (2 hours)
Endocrinology. (4 hours)
Endocrinology. (4 hours).
Cardiology. (5 hours)
Genetic diseases. (2 hours)
Pediatric surgical conditions. (2 hours)
Infant feeding & malnutrition. (3 hours) .

Postgraduate study (MSc Pediatrics):
First academic year:
4 hrs weekly practical training in the following topics:
Pathology 10 hrs
Genetics 4 hrs
Microbiology 10 hrs
Medical Statistics 6 hrs
Guide to Research 5hrs
2. Second term (15 weeks) which include 2 hrs weekly theoretical lectures in pediatrics and 4 hours training twice weekly as follows:
Second academic year:
Third academic term:- (15 weeks)
For 15 weeks student will have one hour theoretical lectures weekly and three sessions of training three times weekly.
Fourth academic term:- (15 weeks)
During this two years study student required to complete a clinical academic research under supervision of their teaching staff.
